Science Tours:
  • Jackson Lab
On Wednesdays, you can take a fascinating tour of this world-renowned institution that specializes in the study of genetics and the breeding of mice with unique genomes that are used by biological researchers world-wide.
Their research teams focus on the genome and its relationship to Cancer, Alzheimer’s, Aging, Addiction, Fertility, Diabetes and various rare diseases as well. They are, most importantly, the world’s foremost breeders of mice with distinctive genomes, which are used by scientists around the world to study diseases related to the genetic abnormalities in a particular strain of mouse.

The tour lasts for an hour and includes a presentation from a Lab scientist about his or her career path in science and current work. This very special one hour might possibly be instrumental in setting your child on his or her own career path in medical science!
