If Children Are Present, No Unsupervised Use of Paints, Crayons, Markers, Etc In our very first year of rental, we have had a (visiting) child write on the walls! The only way to prevent this kind of thing is to diligently supervise all children (your own, or any visitors) if they have materials that could be abused in this manner. Thank you for understanding!
Promptly Clean Spills with Provided Materials, and Inform the Cleaning Staff Accidents do happen, but can usually be mitigated by prompt action! Specific cleaning materials for spills are available in the pantry. Please promptly clean any spills or dirt and inform the Staff (in person, before departure, or by note), of the nature and location of the spill. Also, please inform them of any breakage, or failure of equipment to work.
Children Must Not Play on the Staircases, Balcony Railings, Etc Please supervise all children to ensure that in their exuberance they do not engage in activities that could be dangerous to themselves, or damage our home.
Use Safety Guards on Sunroom Windows If Children Under 12 Are Present See the Welcome Package for details on raising windows above the protected height, as well as restoring them to the protected status.
Supervise Children Near the Water The rocky Mt Desert Island shorefront and trails are wonderfully beautiful … but can be treacherous as well. This is true of the land surrounding our home as well. Please familiarize yourself with the lay of the land before letting children roam free.
