After providing for panoramic views, our next most important design consideration was light, because more than anything else, it is light that showcases beauty and elevates spirits.
Natural Light— every room in the house is flooded with natural light throughout the four seasons. Artificial Light--unlike most of the older homes on the island, all rooms are extremely well-lit by warm-colored, recessed LED lighting in the ceiling, with different parts of each room controllable by individual switches. |
You’ll never strain to see, anywhere in the room, whether reading, cooking, working or just sitting, and by lighting (or not) different sections of a room or using dimmers, you can create just the right ambience.
Sconces provide colorful wall-washing effects, and are especially striking with their nighttime reflections floating in the dark outside the Entrance Hall windows.
