Munjoy Hill: Restaurants and Stores
The Front Room:
Breakfast (and probably dinner). We have spent 20 years during our visits to Portland looking for a good breakfast place. This is it. Even for their Saturday & Sunday brunch, the wait is reasonable. But parking can be difficult. Look on the side streets if you have a problem.
After breakfast, walk up Congress Street to the Observatory. Highest point in Portland, with views of the entire Harbor (which is why it was built.)Take the guided tour. It’s worth it. And/Or walk down Congress Street to the park on Eastern Promenade. Overlooks the harbor. Nice.
Blue Spoon:
Very good dinners. Italian. We recommend an appetizer plus the small portion of their pasta, risotto, or “from the braising pot” selection. Excellent. Brunch on Sat and Sun.
